This page has a few good resources on Birthing Options and Food Facts. I do update it periodically, and may add additional topics in the future.
Birthing Options
How did I learn about homebirth? How do we learn about anything? Ask lots of questions and share your references. These are some of mine.
If anyone reading this page is even thinking about getting pregnant, I strongly encourage you to look into homebirth as an option. At the very least, educate yourself about all the unnecessary things that typical hospitals impose on mothers and babies.
I go to books first, but I realize that many people (especially if they are skeptical of the idea) are not going to go out, buy a book, and sit down to read it. So, I’ll start with a movie. If you do nothing else, watch this movie: http://www.thebusinessofbeingborn.com/
Books, great reading lists and other useful pages:
- Sarah Reynolds first referred me to Ina May’s books about 6 years ago. Since then she has introduced me to many great books. This is her recommended reading list: http://www.oceanwaveshealing.com/recommended-reading/
- Jenny West is our midwife. Her webpage has lots of valuable info and another great reading list: http://www.albuquerquehomebirth.com/

Food Facts
Beginning on August 14, I created this Food Facts section of my Resources page. I will be adding more info soon…
